Abstract


In thearticle is given a short to identify the course,patterns and features of etnocreationPokuttya process as part of the WesternUkraine Range formation of the modernUkrainian nation. There is a wellknown andgenerally accepted thesis: modern Ukrainianliterary language, which established thebeginning of the twentieth century, is theresult of interaction between two options -Western (language works of Ivan Franko)and East (language of Taras Shevchenko).Therefore it is natural to assume that eachof the branches of Ukrainians had itspeculiarities in development, its inherentonly to it specificity in various areas of life:social, cultural, ethnic, and political parts.The author of the article aims to highlightthe features of the ethnic populationPokuttya period of ancient history, identifyits specificity in relation to the part ofUkrainians, for which M. Hrushevskyydeveloped the typical scheme of Ukrainianhistory.The article attempts, for the first timein the national historical science, to imposewell known ethnic groups and communitieson the archaeological cultures that operatein similar chronological intervals in the areabetween the upper course of the Dniesterand Prut.
