ARCHITECTURE MONUMENTS OF POLISH TIME ON THE TERRITORY OF EASTERN PODILLIA: STATE OF CONSERVATION AND FUNCTIONING

Abstract


The articlehighlights the history of EasternPodillia from the middle of the 15thcentury, until the Magdeburg Law wasobtained in Vinnitsa. The emphasis wasmade on the main monuments of that time.The creation and functioning of objects ofhistorical and cultural heritage that werecreated during the period of the Commonwealthon the territory of EasternPodillia, as well as the ownership of theseterritories by Polish tycoons, are characterized.The characteristics of the objects,namely the Polish monuments, which areof the greatest importance in the socioculturallife of Vinnytsia, are described.Their functioning has been revealed fromthe moment of creation to the present day.Attention is given to such monuments as thePotocki Palace in Tulchin, the palace inChernіatyn, the Chernomynsky Palace, theMozhaisk Palace, the palace of PrincessMaria Shcherbatova, the Historical andCultural Center for Spirituality and Harmony,including the St. Florian Church, St.Nicholas Monastery, the synagogue andthe defense complex «Mury» located inthe city of Vinnitsa and the Church of theVirgin Mary of the Angels. Conclusionsare made about the role of functioning ofthe social and cultural life in Vinnitsa thataffected various spheres – political, religious,social, cultural and educationalones.
