INTANGIBLE CULTURAL UNESCO HERITAGE IN UKRAINE: PROSPECTS FOR USE IN TOURISM INDUSTRY.

Abstract


Intangible culturalheritage are cultural and spiritualcharacteristics that distinguish differentethnic groups, form their own nationalidentity. The most unique intangible cul170tural heritage is listed in the UNESCOList of Intangible Cultural Heritage ofHumanity. The Petrykivskyy painting isthe first Ukrainian element that was includedinto the UNESCO RepresentativeList of Intangible Cultural Heritage ofHumanity on December 5, 2013. It isextremely important for the developmentof tourism industry in Ukraine. There aresix architectural and one natural sites inUkraine included into the list of theUNESCO World Heritage.To preserve and enrich the list of IntangibleCultural Heritage and achievethe inclusion of Ukrainian sites in theUNESCO World Heritage we need todevelop a national program of their study,improvement, preservation and use intourist activity. It is clear that implementationof such a program requires creationof tourist information centres to popularizeelements of Ukrainian cultural heritagethat perform information, coordinationand training functions supporting thedevelopment of tourism and providingstrategic development of domestic andinbound tourism in Ukraine.
